Pintech forges blades, jaws, and cutting edges from AISI 420 or 440C stainless steel, and uses AISI 304 for retractors and components where flexibility is more useful than edge retention. 440C holds a sharper edge longer, which matters for scissors and scalpel handles, but is more brittle. 420 balances edge retention with toughness for instruments that see more torque and repeated flexing, such as needle holders and forceps.
